This winter, the cost of heating fuel is again on the rise. Thousands of New Englanders are faced with choosing between heating their homes and basic needs like food and medicine. Partners Bank has once again teamed up with WMTW Ch 8 and Keep ME Warm in support of Heat Week, a fuel assistance fundraising effort supporting the Keep ME Warm Fund. Partners Bank has started the fund with a $150,000 donation and a challenge to match up to $50,000 in donations made during the telethon.
Keep ME Warm provides emergency heating assistance through a statewide partnership of United Ways of Maine and Community Action Agencies. The funds raised during Heat Week are a safety-net resource administered after all other avenues for fuel have been exhausted to assist individuals directly or designated to local organizations that provide emergency fuel assistance, including faith-based programs and nonprofit agencies.

OUR STORY
Last fall, with the continued rising cost of fuel and other basic needs, Partners Bank wanted to help keep families in our communities warm. They started a heating assistance fund and teamed up with WMTW Channel 8 and Keep ME Warm and created the Heat Week Telethon for people who could not afford to heat their homes in New Hampshire and Maine. Partners Bank donated $200,000 along with a match of funds raised during the telethon for an additional donation of $50,000.

Your donations to Heat Week will provide emergency heating assistance in the communities Partner’s Bank serves in Maine and New Hampshire. Maine Counties include Cumberland, York, Franklin, Oxford, Kennebec, Androscoggin, Lincoln, Knox, and Sagadahoc. New Hampshire Counties include Rockingham and Strafford. Donations can be made to New Hampshire or Maine. Funds in New Hampshire are split between Rockingham and Strafford counties. Funds raised for Maine are distributed through a formula based on federal Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) percentages and population.
